Molly Pickering was born and raised in San Antonio, TX which she’s proud to still call home today! Not only does she love cinema… a lot, she claims to be able to quote films for hours on end with her family. When Molly’s not watching films with loved ones, she can be found on Pinterest sharing her favorite things to over 7.8M followers!

When did you start using Pinterest and what drew you to making an account?

I started using Pinterest back in September of 2011 after my friend sent me an invite before I had even heard of it. Once I got started I couldn’t believe that a website like Pinterest hadn’t existed before! I was so thrilled to finally be able to organize, save and share images of amazing things that interest and inspire me.

You have gained over 7.8 million followers… that’s so amazing! What makes your Pinterest unique?

That number is still very surreal to me! I am beyond flattered that so many people enjoy what I pin. I definitely have an aesthetic and I always try to stay true to that. I also only have 13 boards so my pins are concentrated on the areas that I am truly interested in. Very rarely do I find a pin that doesn’t fit into one of my 13 boards. My fashion board, fashion your seat belts is so much fun to pin on! On Pinterest fashion reigns supreme. I’m constantly finding amazing looks I must have and order online on the spot.

What are your favorite boards to pin onto and why?

Style is very personal and you can make it as unique as your own fingerprint. Although you create your own personal style, noticing and integrating popular trends is something most of us do too. One of the most trending styles you will notice on Pinterest this season is bohemian fashion – airy, bright and an embodiment of all the things we love about summer. If you’re getting a little bored with your everyday summer wardrobe, change it up and get some inspiration from this week’s top 5 pins!

1. Hair Feathers

Want to take advantage of an up-do to keep your hair off of your neck? Do something out of the ordinary and buy some hair feathers extensions! You can get them professionally done at a salon or you can DIY at home. They’re subtle but different enough to draw endless compliments and attention.

Stop Lights TitleGive group boards the green light!

Whether you’ve created group boards for collaborating with clients or for planning a dinner party with friends, everyone can benefit from a quick overview of best practices. It’s important to have a solid grasp of group board etiquette and these tips will help steer you in the right direction.

#1. Be Selective

You wouldn’t randomly bring people into a business meeting or invite just anyone into your home for a dinner party. Considering your Pinterest boards are a reflection of your tastes, it’s a good idea to be selective with the group boards you join as well as the ones you create. Whether you’re on Pinterest for personal or professional reasons, before you accept an invitation to a group board, make sure it’s a good match with content you already pin. When you create one of your own, take time to think about who really should be invited to the board.

#2. Monitor Pins

Keep in mind that anyone who follows all of your boards will see the pins from your collaborators, even if they don’t follow that person. Regularly monitor the images being pinned to your group board to make sure they’re a good fit for your audience.

They tear up our furniture and chew on our favorite shoes. Sometimes they forget they’re potty trained and soil your freshly cleaned carpet. They drive us insane sometimes, but there is nothing in this world that will love you more than your dog. Since DineLA is happening this week in Los Angeles, people are flooding Yelp to find the best restaurants to try, so we thought it would be fun to feature our canine companions and their insatiable appetites. Take a look at our top 5 pins for our favorite images of our hungry furry friends!

Bloggers, get ready to enter the Pinterest kitchen! No matter what type of baker or blogger you are, Pinterest just might be the secret ingredient you’ve been looking for.

We’re fortunate enough to work with several bloggers who have engaged Pinterest audiences in the millions. Last week we had the opportunity to interview the ever-inspiring London-based Will Taylor, the quintessentially colorful voice behind the wildly popular blog Bright.Bazaar.

During the interview, Will shared some advice for bloggers who want to use Pinterest and other social channels to promote their blogs. His comments inspired us to serve up some Pinterest basics for bloggers who are ready to get cooking.

Step #1: Preheat The Oven

Some people like to follow a recipe. If that sounds like you, create a board dedicated to your content so it’s all in one place and easy to find. This is the approach Michael Wurm Jr., prolific blogger and style spotter for Better Homes and Gardens, took with his I am inspired by charm board.

When did you start using Pinterest?

I started using Pinterest back in 2010 and haven’t looked back since. I still find it to be the most inspiring online platform to help guide my work because I can spot themes and trends in interiors and design from all corners of the world, any time of the day.
