Are you promoting your pins yet? Promoting Pins is a great way to ensure your best images get seen by your target audience on Pinterest. Before promoting Pins was available to the public, it was usually a guessing game as to how your pins could go viral. Now you have control over which pins are shown, under which search terms, to whom, and at whatever price per click you feel comfortable with. It’s so easy to promote your pins and you have control over how much you spend and who sees your pins.

The following steps share how to use Promoted Pins and show how to monitor your results after the Promoted Pins are approved and running.

First, here’s an overview of the Promoted Pins process that Pinterest maps out on their ads introduction page.

Step 1: Pick a Pin to promote
You have to pick one at a time.

Step 2: Decide who sees it
You have control over what keywords lead to your pin, where the target audience lives, what language the audience speaks, what device they see it on, and their gender. (more…)

As a social media manager, the questions I get asked about Pinterest strategy by brands and regular pinners alike are usually the same 10 questions. They cover getting more followers, best practices, how to easily improve your account, and optimization tips. To make things easier, I thought I’d answer 10 of the most-asked questions here. If there are any questions you have that we missed, comment below with your Pinterest questions!

Question 1: What’s the best way to get more Pinterest followers?

Number 1: Promotion. No one will seek out and follow your brand’s Pinterest account if they don’t know you have one. Post links and photos of your boards and pins to Facebook, Twitter, and emails regularly. To get a quick boost of followers, run a simple and rule-abiding Pinterest contest requiring a follow for entry. Number 2: Make it as easy as possible for them to follow you. Make sure your website has an easy to see ‘follow’ button. And add a Pinterest Facebook app ASAP. Number 3: Pin great content every day. Try to pin 10-20+ pins per day across the day. Only pin brand content 20% of the time. Make your account beautiful, brand consistent, and inspiring.

Question 2: What does the perfect pin look like? (more…)

Meet husband and wife co-pinners Ruslan and Olya originally from Kyiv, Ukraine. They just moved to beautiful Krakow, Poland with their daughters, Miroslava and Jaroslava. They are a very creative family. Ruslan loves design and photography. Olya likes everything related to crafting, food, and fashion! When they’re not working or pinning, they try to spend as much time as possible with their two daughters. Their love for everything from art and design to fashion and food has earned them over 481k Pinterest followers!

When did you start using Pinterest and what inspired you to make an account?

Like the most designers, I love to collect things that inspire me, such as cards, tags, labels, magazines, and books. Pinterest is a great place for me to collect images that inspire me. Olya didn’t have a Pinterest account until later on. Eventually we began to pin on the same account together. Now it is our common account on Pinterest! Some months ago, I created an account dedicated exclusively to design. This is the account for our future design studio United Untitled. So if you are interested in design – check it out here!

I was one of the first pioneers on Pinterest. I remember when there were so few pins that scrolling wasn’t even possible because there weren’t enough pins to fill the page. I initially thought Pinterest was a fad that wouldn’t stick and look at it now!
