Meet Beth Kirby, a freelance stylist, photographer, recipe developer, blogger, and writer from North Chattanooga, Tennessee. Beth’s keenness for travel has led her to live everywhere from New Orleans to the Netherlands to California, but she’s now resettled where she was born and raised, in Chattanooga with her fiancé and their neurotic, rescued cat Gremlin. Beth’s love for developing recipes, photography, writing, and styling leaves her feeling “blessed with an existence where [her] passions are also [her] job.” Beth’s unique, beautiful aesthetic around photography, recipes, home decor, travel, and styling has earned her over 184K Pinterest followers!
When did you start using Pinterest and what inspired you to make an account?
I started using Pinterest when I started my blog, Local Milk, about two years ago. I was inspired to do it for myriad reasons: being able to collect recipes and styling inspiration, as well as the ability to share my work and the work of other people that I love.
Why do you like Pinterest?
I’m an aesthetics junkie. I love being able to wander daily through such a diverse collection of creative work from food to fashion to interior design. Not only is Pinterest a resource for inspiration, it’s also an invaluable tool for sharing the work of creatives from ceramic and fiber artists to photographers and illustrators. I love the opportunities it creates.
You have gained over 184K followers! That’s very impressive! What makes your Pinterest unique?
Aside from being exceedingly prolific? Ha! I stay true to my eye and I don’t shy away from the more subtle work, the stuff that not everyone sees the beauty in.
Are you from Chattanooga originally? If not, where? What do you like about it there? (more…)
